Junior Health Care Explorers Program

The Junior Health Care Explorers Program is the result of a partnership between UPMC and University of Pittsburgh professionals, introducing middle school students to various health care careers through presentations, interactive activities, as well as Q&As.
Topics include, but are not limited to:
• Pharmacy
• Radiation Oncology
• Respiratory Therapy
• Emergency Preparedness
• Dentistry
• Nursing and many more!
This program is free and virtual, meaning any student can participate as long as they are in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade. As the 2026 program beings please keep in mind the following information:
• Program registration is open until January 22.
- Please provide one registration per individual student using a personal email address (we do not have access to school email accounts)
• All sessions will be virtual
- All sessions will take place on Microsoft Teams
- Students will need access to a computer/laptop/tablet with webcam/microphone capabilities.
• All sessions will be held on Saturdays
- Sessions will start on Saturday, January 24, 2026, and end Saturday, April 25, 2026.
- Sessions will last approximately 90 mins
- 9:30 am – 11:00am EST
• Student participants must attend at least 10 sessions to receive a certification of completion
- Sessions will not be recorded
Please note that a schedule detailing the topics, and their respective dates will be provided at the beginning of the program to all registrants.
